He rushes through the mist, under the light of the full moon, darting between wet, mossy stones. In a hurry. Always in a hurry. That's when his tail flicks a beetle lying upside down, six legs in the air, completely still.

The beetle jumps up with a loud, buzzing rattle and a face of pure confusion. It has no idea what just happened. It doesn't even know it's alive again.

The gecko, Keeper of the Secrets of Darkness, stops, blinks slowly, and mutters: "Didn't mean to. But you're welcome, I guess."

The beetle buzzes back. Still confused. Still very much alive. And the gecko disappears into the night like nothing happened.

Just a typical Tuesday in Morwood.
